SGS Philippines, a leading verification, testing and certification company, recently expanded the ISO 9001:2000 certification of the 2GO freight group. Its previous ISO certification covered only terminal operations.
The announcement was made at the 2GO offices in Times Plaza Building, Manila, after a yearlong preparation and eight days of extensive surveillance audit.
SGS auditors commended all the 2GO branches and departments for their efforts but made special mention of the Davao and Zamboanga teams for their exemplary performance during the surveillance audit.
The ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification enables companies to demonstrate its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as continuously improve its systems and processes to adapt to the realities of a changing world.
Regular assessments performed by external auditors like SGS helps a company continually use, monitor and improve its management system and processes. This strengthens the reliability of its internal operations to meet customer requirements, as well as overall performance. The next surveillance audit of the 2GO freight group is scheduled in 2007.
2GO recently acquired freighter vessel 2GO 1 to increase its cargo capacity. The freighter ship’s maiden voyage is set to call on the ports of Davao and General Santos.
