ATS Jan-Sept revenues reach P8.3 billion

Aboitiz Transport System Corporation (ATS) posted total consolidated revenues of P8.3 billion during the 9 months of the year ending September 30, 2006.  This is a 9% decrease over the same period last year despite an 11% increase in freight revenues.  The lower revenues were largely attributable to the decline in the company’s international charter business from its subsidiary company, Jebsen Management (BVI) Ltd. due to unfavorable market conditions.  ATS registered a net loss of P373.5 million.

2GO ISO 9001:2000 certification expanded

SGS Philippines, a leading verification, testing and certification company, recently expanded the ISO 9001:2000 certification of the 2GO freight group.  Its previous ISO certification covered only terminal operations.

Aboitiz Transport System Corporation (ATS) posted total consolidated revenues of P5.7 billion during the first 6 months of the year ending June 30, 2006, down 12% over the same period last year. The lower revenues was mainly due to the decline in business of ATS subsidiary Jebsen Management (BVI) Ltd., the company’s international charter company, caused by unfavorable market conditions. ATS registered a net loss of P25.5 million.

Aboitiz Jebsens grants marine engineering scholarships

Ten students have qualified for Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering scholarships granted by Aboitiz Jebsens (ABOJEB), in coordination with the Aboitiz Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI). The scholars -- seven from Cebu, two from Leyte and one from Negros – are currently enrolled at the University of Cebu (UC), recognized as among the country’s top maritime institutions.   The official awarding of the scholarships and contract signing were held June 16 at the Stella Maris Seamen’s Center at Pier 4, Cebu City.
 

ATS posts consolidated revenues of P2.5 billion in 1st Qtr

For the first quarter ending March 31, 2006, Aboitiz Transport System Corporation (ATS) posted consolidated revenues of P2.5 billion, a 12% decrease over last year. The decrease in revenues is largely attributable to the decline in ATS’ international charter business from subsidiary Jebsen Management (BVI) Ltd. Unfavorable market conditions and lower volumes due to capacity reduction in its shipping business caused the decline in Jebsen’s revenues. This reduction contributed to ATS’ net loss registered at P192.4 million.

In a bid to provide the best service to the Filipino riding public, WG&A SuperFerry launched the newest and modern vessel—the SuperFerry 15 or SF 15—last Jan. 16 at the new Eva Macapagal Super Terminal, Pier 15, South Harbor, Port Area, Manila. The launching was graced by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

ATSC 1st half income rises 16% to P512 million

Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV) ended the first six months of this year with P1.72 billion in net income to common shareholders, a 40% increase over the first semester of 2004. This is equivalent to P0.36 in earnings per share (EPS). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) improved by 20%, to P3.38 billion.
