Sen. Mar Roxas was the guest of honor during the inauguration of Pilmico Foods Corporation's (PFC) new feedmill facility in Iligan City last September 4. Pilmico President & CEO Tony Moraza and Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Cruz joined him for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
An Aboitiz company, PFC currently produces simple swine base feeds as a by-product of its core flour milling operations. With the new facility, which features the best in feed milling technology, the company can already produce animal feeds from a variety of raw materials.
Dutch firm Ottevanger Milling Engineers B.V., which specializes in the design and manufacture of equipment and complete plants for the grain processing and compound feed industry, supplied installed, and commissioned the feed mill equipment.
In 2007, the company had secured a P500-million loan to fund the feedmill expansion, which is expected to strengthen Pilmico’s presence in the feeds market, currently being served through its subsidiary Fil-Am Foods. The new facility is expected to contribute to the industry’s ability and capacity to process crude grains, as well as boost Iligan’s economy.
