Coal-Fired
The Mindanao plant is located in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental in northern Mindanao. The facility is a 232-MW coal-fired power plant commissioned in 1996 built under a build-operate-transfer arrangement. The plant’s major offtaker is the National Power Corporation. The plant is operated by STEAG State Power Inc.The Pagbilao plant is located in Quezon province in southern Luzon. The facility is a coal-fired plant commissioned in 1996. Therma Luzon, Inc. assumed in October 2009 the dispatch control of the plant’s 700-MW contracted capacity. The company won the bid to be appointed as the IPP Administrator of the plant in August 2009. As administrator, Therma Luzon is responsible for procuring the plant’s fuel requirements, dispatch and sale of the electricity it generates.
The Toledo plant is located in Sangi, Toledo City, Cebu. Cebu Energy Development Corporation (CEDC) operates this 246-MW coal-fired plant and it is expected to enter commercial operations in stages throughout 2010.
